Favorite New Recipe!!

So I found a recipe for Almond Broccoli Stir Fry on http://www.allrecipes.com/. I of course added a bunch of things to it and it was so yummy and full of great flavor. If you want to see the original recipe (pictured here) check the websight, but of course I think mines better...

5 c broccoli florets

1 c chopped green pepper

1/2 c chooped celery

1 c shredded cooked chicken

1 TB oil

1 cloves garlic minced

1/4 c soy sauce

2 TB sugar

2 tsp ground ginger

2 tsp lemon juice

1/2 c chopped almonds, roasted

In a nonstick skillet, stir-fry broccoli in oil for 2 minutes or until crisp-tender. Add garlic, green peppers, and celery. Stir fry another 2 minutes. Add chicken. Stir together soy sauce, sugar and ginger and put over veggies. Cook 1-2 minutes for srisp veggies. If you want them softer, cover and simmer 5-8 minutes. Sprinkle with lemon juice and almonds. Serve ove brown rice.

Not for Those With Week Tummy's

So this last weekend we went to Burley to spend time with the Hewards. The big event for the boys is always dehorning. I was completly unfamiliar with this when moving into the family and still think it is crazy!! The craziest part is why all the boys love it so much (probably because it's so gross!) If you are week stomached...please do not continue reading! I don't want to be responsible for anyone getting sick...and obviously don't watch the video!

So while dehorning everyone has a job. There is someone who lets the cow into the holder, someone who puts a 2 x 4 behind it, so it can't backup, someone who brands it, and someone who dehorns it. The worst part is dehorning. After they cut off the horn...there is a stream of blood that shoots out the hole where the horn use to be. When finished they let the cow go in the pin. Well, you can imagine what a bunch of cows with blood shooting out their heads running arouind together look like. They are all red! Shay was pretty disapointed with my viedeo and said it didn't capture the true spirit of dehorning (the details)...i said...i am not getting any closer than that!!! haha...a little taste of dairy farmin for you!
